Comparing Smart Assistants: Google vs Alexa vs Siri [Infographics]

A smart assistant has grown as a recent fad in the smartphone industry. Every smartphone operating system has it own and even the ones that had an operating system until a while back had them like the mighty windows which had a smart assistant called as cortana. A smart assistant is like a virtual robot that resides in your smartphone and does the task of listening to your voice commands, analyzing and then giving you the best possible result.

At present, there are around 3 smart assistants made by the big guns in technology. Amazon’s Alexa, Apple Siri and Google Assistant. All three are competing against each other to make the best smart assistant. All these smart assistant work on the concept of artificial intelligence which means they grow with time. The more you use them, the better they become. Another good thing about smart assistant is that they can do tons of things right from answering your general questions till ordering stuff like food and groceries.

When it comes to working. Almost all the smart assistant work on the same concept, they just differ when it comes to the protocols. The very first thing to know is that for the smart assistants to work. There always needs to be internet connection which is why you may have noticed when you have a really poor internet connection. The assistant doesn’t work with the same speed. Before the smart assistant responds, you need to alert the assistants which is done by the cue words. They are Hey Alexa, Ok Google and Hey Siri. Once you utter these words. It activates the smart assistants so whatever commands are said. It tries to analyze them and then work around for a solution. The moment the query reaches the server, it looks into what exactly is that query. The query is later dissected and a an algorithm analyzes for a solution. Once done, a solution is framed and sent to the user.
